Remembering our colleague, Matthew Fletcher

We are deeply saddened to share that our colleague Matthew Fletcher, User Services Librarian for The City Law School, has passed away after a short illness.
Since joining Library Services in April 2021, having previously worked at the British Film Institute Library, Matthew played a key role as the team settled into the new Law School Building and also worked closely with colleagues in the School.
He put our students first, was proactive in presenting solutions and ideas for positive changes and was a supportive manager, always taking care of his team, supporting their wellbeing and encouraging their development.
As the Departmental Safety Liaison Officer for the Law Library, Matthew managed to bring an element of fun to health and safety matters with a series of quizzes and competitions keeping colleagues amused and engaged.
Matthew’s family has set up a tribute page and are raising money and awareness for Stonewall in his memory.
